CBSE 2025 NEW UPDATE
The last update regarding Central Board of Secondary Education came for the academic year of 2025. The board has declared there is a reduction in their syllabus of about 10-15% to reduce the pressure that students usually suffer from because of acuteness and to enhance their learning by studying essential topics at classes X and XII levels.
Apart from this, the grading format will also be altered. Another change brought in the grading format is that 60 percent grades will be obtained from final exams and 40 percent grades will be derived from internal assessments like periodic tests, projects, etc.
In its revamped format, the board aims at developing lifelong learning.
Its latest innovative move is that it is going to attempt open-book exams in some subjects. Some subjects of the board exams for classes X and XII would be tested in the open-book format from 2025 onwards, which will include English Literature and Social Science.
Here, it is the approach that focuses on application and critical thinking rather than memorization of facts.
On the other hand, practical exams for the winter-bound schools began on November 5, 2024 and are going on till December 5 wherein school s have been required to submit marks promptly.
